Mission, Vision & Ethos

At Sacred Heart, love is at the heart of everything we do.  As you enter the building you can see and feel this. The relationships between the children themselves and the children and staff creates a very special atmosphere. This is not by chance but is by design- it is our Mission. Our children feel safe and loved.  With a dedicated team of staff nurturing their young hearts, minds, and faith, we equip children with the skills and values they need to thrive and succeed in an ever-changing world.

What is a Mission Statement?

A mission statement is a clear and concise statement which provides a common focus and direction for the school and underpins all the school does and how it does it.

Why have a Mission Statement?

A mission statement will give everyone involved with our school a shared understanding of what our school stands for, which will provide us all with a common goal.

Our Mission

At Sacred Heart Our Mission Statement is:

Do Everything in Love’ Corinthians 14:16

We recognise that God is Love. We strive to show God’s love in our actions and words. We do this by living out daily our ‘Four Loves’;

Love Ourselves. Love Others. Love Learning. Love Our World.

Our Four Loves

Love Ourselves

‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is: You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-39)

At Sacred Heart, we recognise that each one of us had unique gifts and talent. We nurture and grow those gifts and talents, striving to be the best version of ourselves and to flourish.

Love Others

‘This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.’ (John 15:9).

At Sacred Heart, we treat everyone as we would like to be treated. We do not think only about ourselves but are ready to help meet the needs of other people. We understand that anyone who is in need, whoever they are or wherever they live, is our neighbour and in need of our compassion and care.

Love Learning

‘Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.’ (Proverbs 1:5)

At Sacred Heart, we foster the desire to know, to grow and to develop. To love to learn is to have a sense of possibility, be excited about learning and play. We support each other to learn from our mistakes, to be challenged and to persevere.

Love Our World

God took man and told him to look after the world. He said to ‘to work it and take care of it.’ (Genesis 2:15)

At Sacred Heart, we know that the world is a gift from God. We acknowledge and take seriously, our responsibility to look after the world, use its’ resources wisely and take care it. Our stewardship of creation involves the care-taking of the environment and animals as well as our families and communities.
