Music
Every child enjoys a dedicated weekly music lesson. Year 4 also participate in whole-year group ukulele lessons provided by a music specialist from Bradford's Music and Art Service. A number of children from Year 5 continue with this tuition. We also offer individual and group instrument lessons through Bradford's Music Hub.
As part of Leeds Diocese Singing Programme, children from Year 1 to Year 6 receive a weekly singing lesson where they also learn musical notation.
Every child participates in a performance, including the Reception and Key Stage 1 Nativity, the KS2 Carol Service, the Year 3 and Year 4 Easter production, and the Year 5 and Year 6 End of Year production.
Our children also take part in other musical events such as the Swing Low Big Sing at St George's Hall to celebrate Black History Month and the Schools Singing Together events as part of the Wharfedale Festival of Performing Arts. We also entertain our community with Christmas Carols at the Clarke Foley Lunch Club and at a local residential home.
We believe that it is important that our children experience live performance and a highlight of our year is the whole school's trip to the Alhambra Theatre's Pantomime. It truly is a magical occasion for us all.
