Dear Families,

Welcome to our school website. On behalf of myself, the Staff and Governors, I hope it gives you an insight into our lovely school, here in Ilkley.

Sacred Heart is a small school with a big heart. We are happy, ambitious and inclusive and we pride ourselves on knowing every child and family individually.

We are a friendly, caring school with high expectations for all our children. Our mission is to encourage every child to be the best version of themselves; we do this by promoting a love of self, love of others and love of learning. Our broad and balanced curriculum allows children to identify their unique gifts and talents, which are nurtured by our wonderful staff, preparing them for life beyond primary school.

As Headteacher, I believe it is important to remain closely connected to the children and to the classroom. Therefore, our Assistant Head and myself both have teaching commitments. This keeps us focused on leading a school that constantly strives to improve teaching and learning.

Around school, children are engaged and excited by their learning. They feel safe to challenge themselves and give everything a go. The children of Sacred Heart are our best advert- they are articulate, kind, respectful and full of fun. I warmly invite any prospective families to come and see this first-hand.
